Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey
This year is the 20th Anniversary of the Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey. Are you up for the Challenge?
Try to visit 10 land-based lighthouses, 3 lifesaving stations, 1 museum and 1 virtual tour of the Delaware Bay Lights in one weekend. Many people start at Sandy Hook Light or Tinicum Light and work their way down and around the coast, but you can begin anywhere.
There is no cost to do the Challenge, although the souvenir book is $5 and some lighthouses have a fee to climb (climbing is not required to participate.)
The souvenir book this year holds pressed pennies and you’ll receive a free penny unique to that site at each stop on the way. If you complete the challenge by visiting all the sites, your name will be entered in a drawing for a gift basket worth over $1000.
