Annual Four Corner Historic Lantern Tour and Holiday Bazaar 2019 Annual Four Corner Historic Lantern Tour On Friday, December 6th, 2019 the organizations of Christ Church, The Allen House, The Quaker Meeting House, and the Presbyterian Church will conduct their 27th Annual Historic Lantern Tour of each of the locations.  There will be two tour times – 6 pm and 8 pm.  The tour takes approximately two hours.  The tour is conducted by costumed actors who retell the historic story of each location.  Tickets are $24 for adults and $12 for children under 12 years old.  Call your friends and family members and put together a group for fun.  The ticket sales benefit each of the organizations. Thuresday , July 4 - Shrewsbury, Monmouth County Annual July 4th Celebration at Allen House Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Join the Monmouth County Historical Association for a historic celebration in honor of Independence Day with a public reading of the Declaration of Independence on Tuesday, at Allen House, 400 Shrewsbury Avenue, Shrewsbury, NJ starting at 10:00 am. Much like the day the Colonists first gathered to hear these stirring words, the bells at Christ Church will ring in honor of the signing. Attendees will also have the opportunity to add their own signature to an oversized replica of the Declaration. Rumson Boy Scouts, along with their Troop Leader, will serve as color guard during the Pledge of Allegiance. Merging the 21st century with the 18th, a life-size image of Thomas Jefferson, Founding Father and primary author of the Declaration, will be ready for selfies and group photographs. Historic Four Corners Lantern Tours Tour the Historic Four Corners in Shrewsbury on Friday, December 7!  The Tavern Museum at the Allen House will open its doors to weary stagecoach travelers on this cold winter evening as it would have in the 18th century.  Reservations are required through Christ Church (732) 742-1227. Tours leave at 6 pm and 8 pm beginning at Christ Church. Tickets are $24 for adults and $12 for children.
