Essex County - Caldwell - HALLOWEEN GHOST WALK AT THE GROVER CLEVELAND BIRTHPLACE

Friday, October 25 – Essex County HALLOWEEN GHOST WALK AT THE GROVER CLEVELAND BIRTHPLACE     A locomotive going too fast, fires going out of control, stories about a world-famous hotel, and an individual being pushed in a wheelbarrow for winning a bet are just a few of the stories which will be told at the Halloween Ghost Walk presented by the Grover Cleveland Birthplace Association on Friday, October 25 th . (Raindate will be Saturday, October 26 th .) Tours will start at the Grover Cleveland Birthplace, 207 Bloomfield Avenue at 5:00 and will continue every half hour into the early evening. The walks will travel west on Bloomfield Avenue and will make stops at the First Presbyterian Church and many historic storefronts. The final stop will be at the well-known Cloverleaf Tavern. Tickets are $15.00 each and will be available at the Grover Cleveland Birthplace and the West Caldwell Public Library after October 1 st . Thursday , July 4 - Caldwell, Essex County Ice Cream Social Come one, come all to the Ice Cream Social at the Grover Cleveland Birthplace in historic Caldwell, New Jersey for a fun-filled celebration with free ice cream, good food, free popcorn and lemonade, free entertainment, lawn games,  house tours, and the traveling trunks displays. The opening ceremony and the reading of the Declaration of Independence begin at 12:30 pm. Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy being outdoors from 12:30 - 4:00 pm. Sponsored by the Grover Cleveland Birthplace Memorial Association.  Ice cream is provided by Gelotti's Ice Cream; food is available from the Cloverleaf Tavern. Rain site, Saint Aloysius gym next door. For bakers, there is a cookie bakeoff with prizes. This year's cookie is the lavender cookie. Essex County - Caldwell - Grover Cleveland Birthplace will be open for tours on Monday, March 18, 2019

Monday, March 18 – Essex County    By special arrangement,  the Grover Cleveland Birthplace will be open for tours on Monday, March 18, 2019, Steven Grover Cleveland's birthday, from 1 to 5 p.m. At 4 p.m. there will be a celebration ceremony at the Birthplace featuring some words from Louis Picone, a presidential historian, a brief introduction of the site, and a final tour.  The Grover Cleveland Birthplace, a New Jersey State Historic Site managed by the Department of the Environment, is normally open every week from Wednesday through Sunday for a group and personal guided tours.      The Birthplace is located at 207 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, N.J.; free parking is available at the site and in the adjacent parking lot of Saint Aloysious Roman Catholic Church. For group tours contact the site at 973-226-0001for scheduling. Children who visit on March 18th will receive copies of the Constitution.
