Ocean County - Brick - New Jersey State Parks

Tuesday, November 12 – Ocean County     The Brick Township Historical Society will hold its next meeting on November 12, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at the Herbertsville Firehouse, 601 Herbertsville Rd., Brick.       Kevin Woyce, author, photographer, and lecturer will give a program about NJ State Parks, showing original photographs from around the state. He will explain how many of the original peoples of the area influenced the names of places in the state.  Also, he will speak of industry and the beginnings of our transportation system with the building of canals.     Free admission; the public is welcome. Parking is in the rear of the firehouse. Sunday, January 20 – Hunterdon County TEWKSBURY HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOLD ANNUAL MEETING & HOST LECTURE ON NEW JERSEY STATE PARKS – HISTORY & FACTS BY KEVIN WOYCE The Tewksbury Historical Society will hold its annual membership meeting on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Society Headquarters, 60 Water Street in Mountainville. Refreshments will be served. The society will hold its annual reorganization meeting, at which time the society's Nominating Committee will present a  slate of officers for the positions of Vice-President and Treasurer to be voted upon by the membership at large. The society's Treasurer will present a 2018 financial report and Standing Committee Chairs will present their reports on 2018 activities and proposed 2019 plans.             Some of New Jersey's most exciting history can be found in our more than two dozen State Parks... Old names such as Wawayanda and Hopatcong remind us of the Len...
