Hunterdon County - Lebanon Twp - Young Artists' Showcase

Saturday, January 11 – Hunterdon County Join the  Lebanon Township Museum  this January when the walls of the historic schoolhouse will once again be adorned with  student artwork!    Third graders in Nicole Newcomb's class have created magical Northern Lights landscapes that will fascinate and delight. Alex Maxwell's Woodglen Art Club students have masterfully created Teachers' portraits out of colorful M&M candies. You can look, but don't taste! An Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, January 11th from 1-3 pm. Meet the young artists and enjoy their talented works of art. Artist Gallery Talk Kate Eggleston: Still Deep Wednesday, November 6, 2019, 7:00 – 8:00 pm Eggleston is an active member and volunteer with Artworks Trenton, Monmouth Arts Council, Hopewell Valley Arts Council, and the Monmouth County Park System. She received her BA in Visual Art and a K-12 New Jersey Art Teacher Certification from Ramapo College in 2005. She was awarded 1 st  Place for Textiles at Arts in the Park Highland Park in 2017, and 3 rd  Place for her  Indigo Sukkah  installation at Sukkahwood. She was a Student Mini Grant recipient of the Andrew W. Mellon Arts Common Good Grant from Drew University in 2014.

Saturday, October 19 – Passaic County The American Labor Museum/Botto House invites you to an  exhibit reception with Zach Horn , October 19th at 1PM     On Saturday, October 19th at 1PM, the museum proudly welcomes the general public to an exhibit reception with artist Zach Horn. Mr. Horn will offer a tour of his exhibit United We Bargain, Divided We Beg and will answer questions. The exhibit features contemporary, heroic-scale portraiture pf labor union workers that were specifically created by Mr. Horn for the exhibit space at the museum.      Light refreshments will be served, and the museum store will be open for browsing and shopping. Zach Horn is a lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Boston and at Boston University. In many ways, Zach Horn observes, union members are our unsung heroes. Artist Gallery Talk  Susu Pianchupattana: Inseparable Wednesday, September 25, 2019 Susu Pianchupattana  was born and raised in Bangkok city, Thailand and came to New York to study painting in the Fall of 2002. After graduating from the New York Studio School, she was granted an O1 artist visa on the merit of her accomplishments and had her first solo show at the Robert Steele Gallery in Chelsea in 2008. The following years saw Susu split her time between Bangkok and the United States; continuing to establish her work while living in NYC, Los Angeles, CA and Nashville, TN. Artist Gallery Talk and Book Signing Stephen Barnwell: Captial Offenses Wednesday, August 21, 2019 My technique for creating this body of work is digital collage. I assemble quite large collages in Photoshop from scans of original, public-domain engravings from my collection of hundreds of vintage books and periodicals from the late 19 th  century. My style of collage is one that does not look like a collage, but rather a seamless, unified image. This requires spending hours upon hours searching for each individual element in the work, which often comprises hundreds of elements, to find not just an appropriate image, but one that is compatible with the total collage. These elements are scanned at a very high resolution, cleaned, resized and manipulated, and then added to the final assemblage. They are printed on my own high-resolution color laser printer, one at a time, with unique serial numbers. I also like to add multimedia elements to the prints, such as stickers, stamps, seals...
