1830s President Day Program Come and join us for Presidents Day in the 1830s! About this Event Help us salute the Presidents of the past by visiting the Historic Village for this special day of patriotic activities and surprise historical challenges. We'll have cooking in the Manager's House and the Allaire Residence, blacksmithing and carving demonstrations, toasts to our great President Jackson, a village-wide "name that President" contest, and patriotic rocket balloons for the kids! At 2:00pm in the chapel, Meet Mary Todd Lincoln and get the woman's point of view on life in the White House. This theatrical performance - $20 per person - register separately. Monday, February 18 – Morris County Kids Mini-Camp - President's Day METC hosts Kids Mini Camp for Presidents’ Day Madison, NJ –  On  Monday, February 18  from  1 PM – 3PM,  the  Museum of Early Trades & Crafts (METC)  will host a  Kids Mini Camp for Presidents’ Day.  This special one-day camp will explore the many things that inspired children in the 1800s and we will look at the ways they added their individual creativity to clothing, blankets and other textiles. Participants will draw inspiration from the quilts, embroidery and lace in our exhibits, to express their own creativity for an afternoon!   For grades K-5 th . Morris County - Madison - President WHO?!!!

Tuesday, February 12 – Morris County 7 PM at the Madison Public Library, 39 Keep Street, Madison President  WHO?!!! Standard programs for Presidents Day most likely include George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. But there are 45 presidents – or is 44? Now it’s time to remember the least known Presidents of the United States. If anything, they at least fill in the holes of American history and you will be able to determine why the above question exists and who caused it! Included in this program are The Hole in the Donut, Benjamin Harrison (pictured); His Accidency John Tyler; Franklin Pierce, who never even knew he was nominated for President until he was told; Chester A. Arthur, a man with zero qualifications, who was nominated for Vice-President solely as a political expediency; and, of course, the ever-popular Millard Fillmore. Sunday, February 10 – Union County 2:00 to 4:00 “Hip, Hip Hooray! Celebrate Presidents’ Day” Miller-Cory House Museum, 614 Mountain Avenue, Westfield   Every year, the third Monday of February is set aside by the federal government to honor two of our greatest Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and their contributions to the nation. Visit the Miller-Cory House Museum to learn about this special holiday as well as fun facts about these two presidents.  The program includes a craft, storytelling, and light refreshments . Admission is $4 ages 13 and older; $3 ages 3-12 and free age 2 and younger.
