Wednesday, September 11 – Essex County       WW2 History Book Club  • Presentation:  Mr. Sydney Levit, veteran survivor of the Battle of the Bulge • Where: Millburn Library, Millburn, N.J. • When:  September 11, 2019 • Time:  7:00 P.M.     Service in WW2:  As a  Paratrooper in the 17th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army , Mr. Levit fought to liberate the French people while under the command of General George Patton. He endured various European campaigns while earning two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. For his service, he received the French Legion of Honour, the highest order of merit for military ‎and civil merits.       • Background: The  Battle of the Bulge  was the largest battle fought on the Western Front in Europe during World War II, and the largest battle ever fought by the United States Army. Also known as the Ardennes Campaign, this was one of G...
