Casual Birder @ Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park Pavilion  Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 9:00 AM at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park Pavilion 1 Joline Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740 (ages 8 and up, under 18 with adult) Join a Park System Naturalist for a leisurely walk on well maintained trails in our parks. We will explore a different park each session as we discuss seasonal points of interest, search for signs of wildlife and identify a bird or two. This is a free 1 1/2-2 hour program, but feel free to join in or drop out at any point during the walk. Dress for the weather as light rain and snow are not deterrents. Hit the trails with us at 9:00 AM

Seashore Open House Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park Activity Center 1 Joline Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740 Sunday, January 12, 2020, 1:00-4:00 PM It may be winter but you can still enjoy some time at the beach. The Activity Center at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park is a great place to bring back memories of the summer or to learn more about the seashore. Stop in during our annual Open House for seashore fun and light refreshments. Engaging hands-on activities will entertain and educate you and your family about the shore and the sea. Speak with a Park System Naturalist about your own shell collection or the aquatic animals on display. You can even create a beach keepsake to take with you.

Full Moon Beach Fishing Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park 1 Joline Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740 Mon, Oct 14, 2019, 7:30-10:30 AM (adults) It is a well-known fact that bait moves out of the rivers during a full moon (10/13/19). These mass exodus’ of bait often result in a “Beach Blitz” as the game fish push the bait schools up against the beach. Join one of our seasoned fishing naturalists as we fish for false albacore, bonito, bluefish and stripers that feed on these exiting baitfish. Bring your 8 to 10-foot surf rod strung with 12 to 15-pound line and your surf bag stuffed with highly polished shiny metal lures and we will try our luck at landing some of these early fall gamesters. Don’t forget your fish “Mojo”. One Session $25.00 Per Person

Jazz fundraiser hits all the right notes Elberon---" Jazz on Park Avenue”, a musical event, will be held at the Elberon Memorial Church, 70 Park Avenue, on Saturday, August 24, at 5:00 p.m.   The program features a mix of swing, bop, and standards, including blues and tunes from the American songbook performed by the John Gronert Trio.  The Trio includes John (drums), Bob Marriner (bass guitar) and Tim Broege (keyboard), joined by Greg Grispart (sax/clarinet).  Broege, an accomplished pianist, harpsichordist, and internationally renowned composer, has served 19 seasons as Elberon Memorial’s organist.     As a special treat, the church’s vintage Hilborne Roosevelt organ will be featured in a unique way.
