Friday-Sunday, December 13-15 – Morris County Mount Tabor Holiday Craft Fair, Collectibles, & Cookie Walk  Friday will be Members-Only Night 6pm - 8pm, $10.00 admission (10% Discount for Members-Only) Saturday 10am -4pm and Sunday noon - 4pm, free admission   Handcrafted ornaments with a Victorian flair, antiques, vintage collectibles, oddities, Mount Tabor gift items, and the annual "fill-a-tin" Cookie Walk. Members of the Mount Tabor Historical Society have donated vintage items to support the mission of the Society, to restore and preserve the Victorian heritage of Mount Tabor and its roots as a Methodist "camp meeting' and to plan for the future, in harmony with the past. No admission charge.     Do some holiday shopping while supporting the Mount Tabor Historical Society. Saturday, November 2 – Morris County The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms presents Farms Afield: Mount Tabor     This fall, as Mount Tabor celebrates its 150th Anniversary year, enjoy a morning with a guided tour of historic Mount Tabor, starting with an introduction to the history of this camp meeting inside the large octagonal Tabernacle, a walking tour of Trinity Park, and a visit to the Richardson History House, a cottage museum. Founded in 1869, the Mount Tabor Historic District embodies the distinctive characteristics of a permanent Methodist Camp Meeting Ground that evolved into a summer residential community. Particularly notable is the architecture of the early camp meeting Stick-Style and Gothic Revival-influenced cottages with their prominent steep gables, open porches, and elaborate gingerbread embellishments. Friday and Saturday, October 18-19 -- Morris County Mount Tabor’s 2 nd  Annual Ghost Walk   The Mount Tabor Arts Collaborative and the Mount Tabor Historical Society present the Mount Tabor Ghost Walk that will take place on Friday, October 18, 6pm – 10pm and Saturday, October 19, 5:30pm – 10pm. Walks leave every 15 minutes with 16 patrons per time slot.   The Mount Tabor Ghost Walk is based on true events. Every neighborhood has a house different from the rest. On the scariest time of year, come to the second annual Ghost Walk and discover the secrets within…if you dare!   Tickets $15. Limited time slots. Saturday, September 28 – Morris County Mount Tabor's 26th Annual Victorian House Tour       This fall, as Mount Tabor celebrates its 150th anniversary year, the Mount Tabor Historical Society's annual House Tour will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2019. The self-guided tour will be held rain or shine 11 am to 4 pm.      This walkable tour of the Mount Tabor Historic District provides visitors an inside look at the unique charm of this historic community with more than 15 private houses, plus several historic buildings open to the public.  Annual features include a furnished replica Camp Meeting Tent and the Richardson History House, a camp meeting cottage museum. Stop by the gift shop, which is stocked with Mount Tabor souvenirs and vintage items. Sunday, March 17 – Morris County      As luck would have it, Mount Tabor was founded on St Patrick’s Day, 1869. Now the town will be celebrating its 150th anniversary with a free event featuring food, arts, theater, and gingerbread houses on Sunday, March 17 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.     Mount Tabor, NJ, originally founded in 1869 as a Methodist camp retreat, quickly flourished into a year-round, all-inclusive community, with streets named after ministers, a celebrated "Children's Day," and Gingerbread Victorian houses that could almost be described as delicious.      Although Mount Tabor was incorporated into the township of Parsippany in 1980, this village off Route 53 retains its own post office, zip code, and independent spirit.     So 150 years after its founding, new residents, alongside descendants of the original ones, will be honoring their heritage with a free, open-house event with tables including: ...
