Tewksbury Historical Society  Cancels  Tag Sales and Collection Days  The Tewksbury Historical Society has canceled its Tag Sale Collection Dates on March 28 and April 4 and its Tag Sales on April 25 and May 2. No donations can be accepted at this time.

Sunday, March 15 – Hunterdon County Brian Armstrong Speaks about Prohibition in NJ, 1919-1933, at THS Rescheduled THS Annual Meeting     Due to inclement weather and the subsequent cancellation of the Tewksbury Historical Society Annual Meeting in January, Brian Armstrong, independent historian, researcher, and author,  will speak at the rescheduled Annual Meeting on March 15th, Sunday, at Society's Headquarter, 60 Water St., in the Mountainville section of Tewksbury at 1 PM. The meeting is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.      Armstrong will trace the development of Prohibition in New Jersey - how it happened, its enforcement problems and its ultimate repeal. Saturday, December 14 – Hunterdon County Tewksbury Historical Society Headquarters Open Dec. 14th for Purchase of Holiday Gift Items      The Tewksbury Historical Society Headquarters, 60 Water St. in the Mountainville section of Tewksbury, will be open Saturday, Dec. 14, 9 AM-12 Noon selling its unique Holiday gifts. Among the items for purchase are Tewksbury afghans in Williamsburg Blue, Cranberry Red, Hunter Green, and Navy Blue, a new color, Tewksbury Church note cards and postcards depicting original historic scenes. Also available are hardcover and paperback editions of Historic Notes on Fairmont, NJ by Freeman Leigh, signed and unsigned prints of Tewksbury, "A River Runs Through It", by Elizabeth "Lib" Ryman and prints depicting scenes in Mountainville, Pottersville, and Califon by Linda Jean. Some of the latter prints are also signed by longtime resident Charles Burrell.   The Tewksbury Historical Society...

Sunday, November 17 – Hunterdon County Tewksbury Historical Society Hosts Barry Thomson Talk on "The Dillons" at Covered Dish Supper     Clarence and Anne Dillion will be the subject of a talk by local historian W. Friday, October 11 through Sunday, October 20 – Hunterdon County image: Old Tire Swing in Tewksbury by Jack Quinn A Champagne Preview opens the Tewksbury Historical Society's 28th Juried Art Show and Sale Friday, Oct. 11   The 28th Juried Art Show and Sale, sponsored by the Tewksbury Historical Society, opens on Friday, Oct. 11, with a Champagne Preview, 5-6 PM, prior to the Reception and Show. This new feature of the evening allows potential buyers to view the artwork early while enjoying a special drink and food.  Those not interested in arriving early may attend the Reception and Show, 6-8 PM., as in the past. Activities will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Christian Education Building, 15 Miller St., Oldwick. Champagne Preview tickets are $​75 with advanced reservations only. Reception tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. All tickets permit returning to the show during the week as of...

Saturday, August 31 – Hunterdon County TEWKSBURY HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOLDING 25 th  ANNUAL FLEA MARKET ON AUGUST 31 st     The Tewksbury Historical Society will hold its 25 th  annual Flea Market on Saturday, August 31 st   from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Johnson Family/Cedar Lane Farm field on County Route 517, Oldwick, one-half mile north of Homestead Road. The entrance to the site is north of Homestead Road on Route 517.  The rain date is Sunday, September 1 st , field conditions permitting.    All vendor spaces have been sold out since July 12th with there being 113 vendors in attendance at this year’s market. The Pottersville Volunteer Fire Company will be serving breakfast and lunch for sale to raise funds for their organization. The Society will also have its own booth of treasures to sell from smalls to furniture and more. Admission to the Flea Market is $ 2 PER CAR, collected at the exit. Early birds can again gain entry f...
