Sunday, September 8 – Ocean County    On Sunday, September 8,  the Brick Township Historical Society will sponsor an Ice Cream Social/Picnic and Fall Festival  at its Havens Homestead Museum property, 521 Herbertsville Rd., Brick from 12 noon to 4 pm, rain or shine.       There will be games for children. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic lunches (no grills, please) and buy a variety of made-to-order ice cream treats . Sundaes, Rt. 88, Pt. Saturday, August 17 – Somerset County     Members and Friends of the Somerset County Historical Society! It's almost time to celebrate!   It's almost time for our  2nd annual Hungry for Heritage picnic.  Please join us from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, rain or shine at the Van Veghten House, 9 Van Veghten Drive, Bridgewater.    Feel free to bring guests. The program includes a "show and tell" of a personal/family treasure. The picnic is a potluck format, so if you would like, bring a dish to share. We hope to see you there!

Saturday, July 20 – Mercer County Lunar Landing Picnic at the New Jersey State Museum, 205 West State Street, Trenton July 20, 4 - 8 pm New Jersey State Museum Lawn     Commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing with a picnic on the Museum lawn! Guests are invited to bring a picnic to enjoy on the Museum's front lawn (a limited amount of food will be available for purchase) while enjoying music and more. The Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton will be on hand with several telescopes for solar observing. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move inside the Museum.     The Planetarium will have two programs at the special price of $5 each. Saturday, June 29 -- Somerset County Free Family Picnic!  Saturday, June 29 -- 6 p.m. until the fireworks at the ballpark end (around 10 p.m.) Historic Van Horne House, 941 E. Main St., Bridgewater   Join us for lawn games (including croquet and giant-sized lawn bowling), visits inside the historic Van Horne House, and more! Stay with us and watch the fireworks across the street at TD Bank Park after the Somerset Patriots baseball game ends.   Free gift for every child who attends! Bring your own food, drinks, and lawn chairs and blankets (please carry out your trash).
