Many Inspired Steps Opening May 25, 2019,  through November 10, 2019 Riverside Gallery, 2nd floor The New Jersey State Museum is pleased to present Many Inspired Steps an exhibition that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. On July 21, 1969, at 10:56:15 p.m. E.D.T. Astronaut Neil Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the Moon with the now-famous words: “That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Neil Armstrong’s “one small step” was just the crowning accomplishment of an endeavor that goes back centuries. Many Inspired Steps tells the story of that endeavor. The exhibit is supplemented by objects in the Museum’s collection and on loan that bring this story to life and emphasize New Jersey’s connection to this historic event. Thursday, July 25 -- Mercer County   On July 25, we will read  My Little Golden Book About the First Moon Landing  by Charles Lovitt with illustrations by Bryan Sims (Illustrator) as part of the celebration of the 50 anniversary of this moon landing.     AMERICA’S SPACE HERO: BUZZ ALDRIN STORYTIME Thursday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m.  $10 for two adults with up to 3 children; free with Morven’s Family Membership. Mercer County - Trenton - Lunar Landing Picnic at the New Jersey State Museum

Saturday, July 20 – Mercer County Lunar Landing Picnic at the New Jersey State Museum, 205 West State Street, Trenton July 20, 4 - 8 pm New Jersey State Museum Lawn     Commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing with a picnic on the Museum lawn! Guests are invited to bring a picnic to enjoy on the Museum's front lawn (a limited amount of food will be available for purchase) while enjoying music and more. The Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton will be on hand with several telescopes for solar observing. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move inside the Museum.     The Planetarium will have two programs at the special price of $5 each.
