  Wednesday, May 1 – Cape May County Museum Open House Celebrates Coast Guard History May 1 to Sept. 27      The Museum of Cape May County is proud to announce its newest exhibition, “Always Ready: Always Here,”   that highlights the history of the United States Coast Guard’s impact throughout Cape May County.     This exhibition is one of the most extensive undertaken by the museum. Its mission is to bring to life the history of those brave men and women who have given their service to not only our nation, but to our county. “Always Ready: Always Here” will offer visitors a chance to see artifacts and memorabilia demonstrating the Coast Guard’s deep roots in our county history, including life-saving stations.     Of course, Cape May County’s crown jewel – the historic 1857 first-order Fresnel lens that stood atop the Cape May lighthouse will be lighted and on display in the 1780 Smith Barn. This lens, on lo...
