S aturday, October 12 -- Mercer County On September 13, 1759, during the Seven Years' War (1756-63), a worldwide conflict also known in America as the French and Indian War, the British under General James Wolfe achieved a dramatic victory when they scaled the cliffs over the city of Quebec, capital of New France, defeating the French forces under Louis-Joseph Marquis de Montcalm. Sunday, July 21 -- Mercer County Pittsburgh's Lost Outpost: Captain Trent's Fort Hear about the life and times of the son of Trenton's founder in the years before the American Revolution Trenton, NJ  -- The Trent House Association hosts Jason Cherry, author of a recently published account of Captain William Trent as he led a militia company to establish a fort on the far frontier of the English colonies in the 1750s. The program will begin at  12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the 1719 William Trent House  (15 Market Street, Trenton, NJ, 08611).  In the year 1754, before a young George Washington would set the world on fire, trader William Trent, son of William Trent of Trent's Town at the Falls of the Delaware, and his hired volunteers would begin an outpost at the Forks of the Ohio.
