Morris County - Oak Ridge - “Christmas in the Village”

Saturday-Sunday, December 7-8 – Morris County The Jefferson Township Museum will be open for the  “ Christmas in the Village ”  celebration. Opening hours for the Museum for the weekend are  10 to 4 on Saturday, December 7,  and  1 to 4 on Sunday, December 8 . “Christmas Carols ” is the theme of this year’s decorations. The museum is decorated by members of the Museum Garden Club and the Jefferson Township Historical Society under the direction of Roberta Shaw, Gardener One.  Each room of the museum will interpret favorite Christmas songs. Docents dressed in period costumes will be on hand under the direction of Carol Keppel, Museum Director. Hot mulled cider will be served outside by the pot-bellied stove on the banks of the brook on Saturday under the direction of Greg Brown. Mrs. Santa Claus will be making an appearance. Sunday, November 3 – Morris County     The Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will have an open house on Sunday, November 3, 2019,  from  1 to 4 pm.  Admission is free.  Our award-winning costumed docents are available to help on your tour. Sunday, October 6 – Morris County The Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House, will have an open house on   Sunday, October 6, 2019,  from  1 to 4 pm.  Admission is free. Congratulations to our member, Dianna Filan, whose docent costume won first prize at the NJ Farm and Horse Show in August. You can almost always find Dianna(pictured in the garden arbor) along with the other dedicated docents in their costumes at the Museum's first Sunday of the month open house. Morris County - Oak Ridge - 11th Annual Plant Sale @ the Jefferson Township Museum

Saturday, May 11 – Morris County     The Museum Garden Club of Jefferson will have its  11 th annual plant sale  on Saturday May 11, 2018 from 10:00 to 3 at the Jefferson Township Museum, 315 Dover Milton Road, Jefferson Township, NJ.  Locally grown perennials, assorted annuals, herbs, vegetables, and gift plants will be available for purchase. Members of the garden club, including NJ Master Gardeners, will be on site to assist shoppers with your plant selections and your gardening questions.  Miss Elizabeth’s Gift Shoppe will be open so that you can pick up a gift for Mother’s Day.  This event is being supported by the Feisty Pepper . Proceeds from the sale support the garden club's efforts to maintain Miss Elizabeth's garden on the grounds of the Jefferson Township Museum. For further information go to  www.jthistoricalsociety.org .

Morris County - Oak Ridge - Museum Garden Club of Jefferson Meeting

Wednesday, March 20 – Morris County     The  Museum Garden Club of Jefferson  will meet on Wednesday, March 20 in the Riker Room of the Jefferson Township Library, Weldon Road, Jefferson, at 7:00 p.m. Gardeners of all skill levels are welcome to attend this meeting and to join the Garden Club. New members are welcome and no experience is necessary. Volunteering in the Museum Gardens is a rewarding experience, learning and working alongside several Master Gardeners and dedicated members.      The Museum Garden Club’s main focus is to develop and maintain the gardens surrounding the Jefferson Township Museum, also known as the George Chamberlain House. Other activities include an annual plant sale and decorating the Museum for Museum Christmas. Anyone interested in joining the organization is encouraged to attend this meeting.      For further information, contact  gardener1@jthistoric...
