Image
"A Neglected Legacy:  Reclaiming a Radical Past" The Museum proudly opens the exhibit  A Neglected Legacy:  Reclaiming a Radical Past   by Michele Fazio, Ph. D. on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at 7PM. A Neglected Legacy:  Reclaiming a Radical Past  features photographs from 1943 that tells the story of the integration of first-generation Italian immigrants into becoming full-fledged Americans.  The exhibit also tells the hidden history of two brothers, Raimondo and Vincenzo Fazio, who were engaged in the Italian American Left's fight for social justice during the early 20th-century U.S. labor movement. According to Dr. Fazio, Associate Professor, Department of English, Theatre and Foreign Languages at the Unversity of North Carolina at Pembroke, "this family story challenges the dominant narratives that have come to define U.S. history and encourages a reconsideration of the past, calling into question not only how we understand immigration and activism to...

For the first eight years after graduating from college, he averaged 3,500 photos a year for the newspaper, processing negatives in his personal darkroom. Working for the Bergen Record as a reporter he carried his cameras along on assignments, capturing a variety of subject matter over the years. For the past 31 years, he has worked in print production for Thomson Reuters as his print division morphed from Prentice-Hall, Macmillan, and the Research Institute of America. His expertise is short-run print on demand publishing. In 2015, his office moved from Lower Broadway, Manhattan, to River Street, Hoboken.
