Sunday, June 9   - Little Silver, Monmouth County Map of the Manor at Tinton: Archaeology in Tinton Falls, NJ Please join the Parker Homestead in Little Silver, NJ for one of their "History in the Barn" talks, titled "Map of the Manor at Tinton: GIS and Historical Archaeology in Tinton Falls, New Jersey." This talk, by Matthew Del Guercio, looks at the colonial/industrial history of Tinton Falls and the Lewis Morris Ironworks, the third oldest Ironworks in North America. Matthew also looks at how archaeologists can use Geographic Information Systems software to create predictive models for locating archaeological sites, and how a historic map of Tinton Falls illustrates the community's evolution over time. Be sure to tour the house before or after this event, as they are be open for tours every Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Free and open to all. Donations accepted.
