Ocean County Until September 6, 2020   (Exhibit)  The Women of Peto -  John F. Peto Studio Museum In honor of the 100 th  anniversary of the 19 th  Amendment, the Peto Museum is highlighting the contributions of the  Women of Peto , including his daughter Helen (who was a watercolorist), Peto’s female students (including Emily Perkins); and art and artifacts of other Peto family members. The history of Peto’s granddaughter Joy Smiley’s life growing up in the Studio is also explored, as are the works of some of the founding members of the Peto Museum (Jean Wetta, Alice Askoff).        The museum is currently closed. For updates, sign up for our mailing list to receive the Museum's newsletter at  http://petomuseum.org .  Meanwhile, the museum is currently accepting submissions to an online exhibition we call "#PetoMuseumFromHome". Landscapes of New Jersey: Past, Present, and Future, Showcasing George Stave May 18 @ 1:00 pm - September 1 @ 4:00 pm The John F. Peto Studio Museum Last fall, Roy Pedersen of Pedersen Gallery, Lambertville, New Jersey, approached the John F. Peto Studio Museum about staging an exhibition focusing on artist George Stave (1923-2011) and his plein air landscape paintings. The discovery that Stave also painted in the trompe l'oeil style was exciting because displaying some of these works would connect so well to our own artist, John F. Peto.  The wheels started turning to visualize how additional landscape painters might be included. That is when the… HOURS Regular Hours: Saturdays & Sundays, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Check the website for changes due to holidays and weather. Music Under the Stars: The Kootz August 25 @ 5:00 pm  -  7:00 pm Free Event Navigation It’s the “Rock ‘n Roll with Fiber” world of this group of Jersey-guys and their ‘musical friends’ who just can’t seem to ‘retire their guitars’ and likely never will!  The collective passion for classic rock, pop, soul and blues and just ‘plain old making great music’ has been a driving force even a ‘mantra’ in assembling ‘The Kootz’ band. Come see  Due South  kick into gear as they perform hits from legendary artists such as Brooks and Dunn, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, and Keith Urban, Patsy Client and Johnny Cash. The band has a growing list of Southern Rock, pop, and classic rock covers from groups like The Eagles, Marshall Tucker, Linda Ronstadt, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Grand Funk Railroad, The Doobie Brothers, and more! Join Us for the 2019 Peto Cup June 28 @ 6:00 pm  -  9:30 pm  $40 The 2019 Peto Cup Race Celebration and A-Cat Regatta will take place on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Island Heights Yacht Club (66 River Avenue, Island Heights, NJ 08732). The A-Cat Sailboat Race Starts at 5:00 PM. This event will feature an American Barbecue, music by the New Jersey Party Band, and silent and live auctions. Open bar is sponsored by Mt. Gay Rum. The cost is $40. Proceeds benefit the John F. Peto Museum, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The success of this event literally keeps the Museum’s doors open and helps us achieve our mission of preserving John F. Peto’s legacy and presenting world-class exhibitions.
