Essex County - Montclair - Price of Liberty: Standing on My Sister’s Shoulders

Tuesday, March 26 – Essex County Price of Liberty: Standing on My Sister’s Shoulders Montclair, NJ  – Tuesday, March 26 from 7 to 9:30 pm. The Montclair History Center, in partnership with Montclair Film, will show  Standing on My Sisters’ Shoulders , as the first film in the Montclair History Center’s annual Price of Liberty Film and Discussion series.  The award-winning documentary is the compelling story of the Mississippi Civil Rights movement from the point of view of its remarkable and courageous women who changed the course of history. Dr. Lillie Edwards, a Montclair resident, Professor Emerita of Drew University, and member of the Amistad Commission, will provide a contextual overview prior to the film and lead the discussion immediately following. This is the sixth year the Montclair History Center has offered the Price of Liberty Film and Discussion series that each year explores a different aspect of the Black experience.
