The Asbury Park Historical Society’s annual 50/50 raffle will be drawn at the end of November and tickets to enter to contest are still available.

“Like they say, you have to be in it to win it,” APHS President Don Stine said.

The historical society has been spending a great deal of money recently renovating the Stephen Crane House, which it acquired a few years ago.

“We always appreciate any financial support we can get and entering the 50/50 raffle is a good and fun way to support us,” APHS President Don Stine said.

The raffle will be drawn at the society’s regular meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 pm. Tickets are $5 each or a book of five tickets for $20.

To enter, send your payment for the number of tickets you want to: APHS/ Stephen Crane House, 508 Fourth Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ 07712. You then will receive your entry stubs in the mail.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Stephen Crane House on Sundays between noon and 2 p.m.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Owen Coachman House incorporates a c. 1700 “Whalers Cottage” - one of the oldest surviving structures in Cape May County. It was moved to this site in 1846 by Owen Coachman, a free black man who purchased land here for a farm.
