Rural Awareness Talk Nov. 7

    Hal Benz with the international Climate Reality Project will speak on the impacts and solutions of global warming on Thursday November 7 at Rutgers’ Snyder Research Farm, 140 Locust Grove Road, Pittstown, NJ. The hour-long program sponsored by Rural Awareness, Inc. is free and starts at 7:30 pm. No reservations are required.

     The Climate Reality Project, founded in 2011, is a non-profit organization focused on climate change education and countering climate change denial campaigns worldwide.

Benz says “Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time. We need to build awareness and push for action in adopting clean energy policies across the globe.” His program touches on the changes in animal migrations and plant life cycles, stronger storms, higher temperatures, more droughts, thawing permafrost, rising sea levels, warming oceans, damaged corals, and more. Working together, he says, we will ignite the moral courage in our leaders to solve the climate crisis.

Benz has been a volunteer for the Climate Reality Project for two years and is broker/owner of the Local Impact Real Estate Network based in Westfield. He also is associated with Keller Williams Realty. His educational background is in social work and non-profit administration. 

    Rural Awareness is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history and rural character of Franklin Township in Hunterdon County.
