Children's Book Reading at Lambert Castle

   Calling all families. Come to Lambert Castle on Thursday, August 29th for a very special visit from local children's author Kathleen Kellaigh. Come early and explore the museum for an hour with our family-friendly scavenger hunt or stay after the presentation. Kathleen will read from her book, The Griftamouse and the Stardragon in Lambert Castle's atrium at 1pm. This first book in the Slamto Carracas series, features YOUR art as the co-star! The fantastical characters, landscapes and epic battles are different in each person's mind. Nurture your creative talent as you enjoy the heartwarming tale. Copies will be available at the event and Kathleen would be happy to sign them!

    A resident of Clifton, Kathleen Kellaigh directs, acts, teaches and writes. She is also the co-founder for ATC Studios. She was on the soap opera GUIDING LIGHT for a few years, appeared on other TV shows and films, and has traveled the world acting on stage. Sunday, June 9 – Somerset County Save the Date for a visit with an  18th-Century Surgeon-Dentist      Let us be clear: George Washington did not have wooden teeth. However, he did have dental problems through most of his adult life, as did many 18th-century folk of both high and low social class. There were no regular visits to dentists, with tooth brushing and flossing in between at that time.  There weren't even dentists as we know them today. Dentistry was only just evolving as a separate profession through the eighteenth century. Barber-surgeons or surgeon-dentists provided many more services than our modern dentists. Toothbrushes were somewhat new, but rare for most people to use or even own.
