The Colts Neck Historical Preservation Committee is hosting a Presentation on the Preservation of the Polhemus Family Cemetery - Circa 1732 to 1857, by the Society Of Archaeological Research (SOAR) on September 12th at 7pm in the Large Meeting room of the Colts Neck Library, Lower Level.
Added feature Dr Gerry Scharfenberger, "all you have ever wanted to know about cemeteries.”
There are about 40 stones left, 15 stones predate 1800. It is in a heavily wooded area, with many brambles and poison ivy. This was the family burial ground of Daniel Polhemus.
