Washington lamented that the women and children of the Continental Army --- the families of the soldiers ---slowed down the army on the march but he knew that many had nowhere else to go. They often got jobs when the military performing essential tasks needed to keep the army going. Learn about the surprising roles women and children had in the life of the Continental Army.

Saturday, June 29  - Burlington Township, Burlington County Historic West Hill Manor  220th Anniversary Historic West Hill Manor will celebrate its 220th Anniversary on Saturday from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm.  Talk to Colonial soldiers about their life on the march and in battle. Learn to make your own ice cream and how to use a spinning wheel. The kids will enjoy our new Toy Room and play with toys from the past. Our handmade dollhouse will also be on display. At 3:00 pm, there will be a special presentation on Freemasonry and The Underground Railroad.  Admission is $10 per adult and $5 per child under 12.
