Holiday Open House and Greens Sale


On Saturday from 12:30 - 4:00 pm, tour the magnificent 1719 Trent House Museum, decorated for the holidays by the talented members of the Garden Club of Trenton. The Trent House Museum Shop features special items and seasonal gifts. Seasonal refreshments will be provided for our guests all afternoon in the Carriage House/Visitor Center.

Beautifully designed table arrangements and decorated wreaths will be for sale, created by the Garden Club of Trenton. Cut Christmas trees, undecorated wreaths and loose fresh magnolia branches will also be available for sale and awaiting your own creative touch. Event proceeds will benefit the curatorial work and educational programming of the non-profit Trent House Association.

The Trent House Museum Shop will feature special items and seasonal gifts at a discounted rate. Seasonal refreshments will be provided for our guests all afternoon in the Carriage House/Visitor Center.

The 1719 William Trent House is the oldest building in our state capital. A Georgian-style manor house restored to its former glory and carefully furnished as it would have been in the early 18th century, it is located at 15 Market Street, Trenton, NJ adjacent to the Hughes Justice Complex. Saturday, June 29  - Burlington Township, Burlington County Historic West Hill Manor  220th Anniversary Historic West Hill Manor will celebrate its 220th Anniversary on Saturday from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm.  Talk to Colonial soldiers about their life on the march and in battle. Learn to make your own ice cream and how to use a spinning wheel. The kids will enjoy our new Toy Room and play with toys from the past. Our handmade dollhouse will also be on display. At 3:00 pm, there will be a special presentation on Freemasonry and The Underground Railroad.  Admission is $10 per adult and $5 per child under 12. Saturdays until October 5  - Cape May, Cape May County Whalers Cottages at Batts Lane Self-guided Tour On Saturday between 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm, take a self-guided tour of two beautifully restored, historic cottages that Chris & Dave Clemans have just donated to  Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities ! Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Owen Coachman House incorporates a c. 1700 “Whalers Cottage” - one of the oldest surviving structures in Cape May County. It was moved to this site in 1846 by Owen Coachman, a free black man who purchased land here for a farm. A tour of this site brings to life the important story of our county’s free African American community in the years before the Civil War.  Admission is $10 per adult and  children (ages 3-12) $5 .
