Pajama Storytime: The Night Before Christmas with Gennady Spirin
Friday, December 21 at 5:00 p.m. in Morven’s Stockton Education Center
$30; $25 for members – tickets include one book
One family up to six people – please, no combined groups 

   Hundreds of Christmases were celebrated by families living at Morven over its long history as a home. Starting at 5:00 p.m. enjoy a private visit of the glorious Festival of Trees throughout the Museum and vote on your favorite display. Then at 5:45 p.m. we will stroll across the lawn to Morven’s new Stockton Education Center for a new family tradition: an illustrated reading of The Night Before Christmas. Pajama Storytime with award-winning illustrator Gennady Spirin includes a book signing and snack. Bring your favorite blanket for this special holiday event.

Sunday, June 9 – Somerset County Save the Date for a visit with an  18th-Century Surgeon-Dentist      Let us be clear: George Washington did not have wooden teeth. However, he did have dental problems through most of his adult life, as did many 18th-century folk of both high and low social class. There were no regular visits to dentists, with tooth brushing and flossing in between at that time.  There weren't even dentists as we know them today. Dentistry was only just evolving as a separate profession through the eighteenth century. Barber-surgeons or surgeon-dentists provided many more services than our modern dentists. Toothbrushes were somewhat new, but rare for most people to use or even own.
