(ages 10 and up, under 18 with adult)
Sandy Hook Bay is a waterway like no other – with two historic lighthouses, quaint bayside communities, and amazing views of New York City. We’ll show you the sights and teach you something about the history and ecology of Sandy Hook Bay like no one else can. We will entertain you with tales of the Revolutionary War, local legends of the sea, and stories of characters past and present. Not to mention tales about whales, seals, fish and horseshoe crabs. Highlights include seeing the nation’s oldest working lighthouse, a lighthouse that looks like a small castle, and Sandy Hook National Recreation Area. Bring binoculars, a camera, and something warm to wear as it can get chilly on the open water. Light snacks available on board or bring your own. The boat will depart from the Atlantic Highlands Marina. Check out the Classic Boat Rides website for more information about the boat. Detailed information about the trip will be emailed to participants a few days before departure. Make sure to provide your email address when registering so we can reach you.
