See the new exhibit, Sounds of the Times,
the Michael Molnar Radio Collection.

Join us in celebrating radio's heyday at this brand-new exhibit, The Sound of the Times. The radio was one of the most important inventions of the 20th century and its impact will be highlighted in this exhibit. A collection of antique and vintage radios are on loan to the museum from collector and radio enthusiast Michael Molnar. Mr. Molnar has been collecting for over 30 years and has generously co-curated this very special exhibit which exhibition outlines the evolution of radio and shares stories of the cultural impact it had on society. 

  For enjoyment, visitors can experience a radio from over 70 years ago by hearing the sounds of the time. Ever wonder how was radio different from today? Try to tune a radio from a hundred years ago and find out for yourself!

Sunday, June 9 – Somerset County Save the Date for a visit with an  18th-Century Surgeon-Dentist      Let us be clear: George Washington did not have wooden teeth. However, he did have dental problems through most of his adult life, as did many 18th-century folk of both high and low social class. There were no regular visits to dentists, with tooth brushing and flossing in between at that time.  There weren't even dentists as we know them today. Dentistry was only just evolving as a separate profession through the eighteenth century. Barber-surgeons or surgeon-dentists provided many more services than our modern dentists. Toothbrushes were somewhat new, but rare for most people to use or even own.
