On May 2, 2019, MZWD fb promoETC invites you to an evening with Zero Waste Daniel. Founder, Daniel Silverstein is a NY fashion designer and a zero waste pioneer who first captured the attention of America on Season 2 of NBC’s reality completion, Fashion Star, in 2013. Since then, his story and mission have gone viral with over 20 million views on Buzzfeed, Now This, and Insider and his innovative zero waste designs have been seen on many celebrities on the red carpet such as Kristen Bell and Jennifer Hudson to name just a few.  A graduate of Madison High School and FIT, Daniel’s energy and enthusiasm for fashion and sustainability is evident in everything he does.
The mission of Zero Waste Daniel “is to tackle and change industry norms by reimagining design and creation without waste.” Each of his genderless pieces transforms scraps to fashion and diverts one pound of textile waste from the fashion industry from the landfill.

Daniel will be sharing more about his brand and his process at METC on May 2 at 6pm for the museum’s annual spring fundraiser. Guests will also have the opportunity to shop some ZWD merchandise with a part of the proceeds benefiting METC, wine and light fare served. Tickets are $40 for METC members and $50 for nonmembers, register online here.
