MORE DETAILS:  Volunteers from the Army Ground Forces Association will be uninformed as World War 2 US Army Coast Artillery soldiers and will bring Battery Gunnison/New Peck and its 6-inch M1900 guns to life just as they were in May 1943.
You'll get to use the fully restored 1920-40's vintage telephone system, and learn about Army medical support in 1943. Learn how the Army planned to fight against chemical weapons with the fully restored Chemical Decontamination System. Learn about 1940s metal working tools and see machinists making parts to repair or replicate historic items. Participate in loading the guns, tracking ships with 1940's telescopes, learn "artillery math," and experience a soldier's life at Ft Hancock during 1943.
