Monmouth County - Rumson - Become a Citizen Scientist for the Navesink
BECOME A "CITIZEN SCIENTIST" FOR THE NAVESINK!
Training Session: Thursday, July 25th from 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Bingham Hall, 40 Bingham Avenue, Rumson
Clean Ocean Action (COA) in partnership with the NJ Department of the Environment (NJDEP) and the Navesink River Municipalities Committee, has been coordinating a Citizen Scientist water quality management program since 2016. Citizen Scientists are a vital part of this program and COA is recruiting!
Citizen Scientists are volunteers like YOU who take water samples of the Navesink approximately once every three weeks. COA staff take the samples to NJDEP who analyses them for pathogen pollution. Once a month COA and NJDEP report their findings at a public meeting at Bingham Hall.
There has been significant progress in identifying and remediating pollution sources and additional
Citizen Scientist volunteers are required. Please attend the Training Session on July 25th at Bingham Hall. Learn about the program and volunteer for a short time every three weeks or so. RSVP by email to outreach@CleanOceanAction.Org.
