Public Presentation: New York Harbor Pilotage
by Captain Chris Begley
Wednesday, March 20th at 7:30pm at Bahrs Landing Restaurant, Highlands

Have you ever wondered about the thousands of ships that pass through New York Harbor each year on their way in and out of the NY/NJ port system?  They require Pilots to navigate the busy channels without incident.

Our speaker is Captain Chris Begely, holder of a USCG Master's License of Unlimited Tonnage Upon Oceans and a federally Licensed Pilot for NY, NJ, VA, and AK.

He will explain pilotage and what it takes to navigate very large ships into our nation's third largest seaport.

New York Harbor is the largest natural harbor in the world and the entryway to the largest population center in the US and a major hub for imports and exports.

Before the presentation, enjoy dinner in the restaurant or snacks at the bar!
