Join us for a series of eye-opening talks by Park System Naturalists to discover what’s lurking in the coastal waters of Monmouth County. The presentations are designed to inform the public of current issues, ecology and science research, and to inspire an appreciation for the local natural world.
The Jersey shore is home to many different species of sharks: great whites, bulls, blues, and threshers to name just a few. It’s also home to the infamous shark attacks of 1916, the first known shark attacks on swimmers in U.S. history, which inspired the book and movie “Jaws”. This talk will get into the history and ecology of sharks as well as why they are important to protect. Not to be missed by any shark enthusiast!
