Cape May County - Cape May - Junior Apprentice Program @ Historic Cold Spring Village
The Junior Apprentice Program educates students, ages 11-14, on life in the early 1800s by exposing them to the trades, crafts, and heritage of the period.
Apprentices work alongside a Village artisan to learn an Early American trade or craft.
Historic Cold Spring Village hosts two Junior Apprentice Program sessions in the summer, one in July and a second session in August.
Each session is four weeks long.

While at Historic Cold Spring Village, all apprentices will be required to wear historically appropriate clothing, supplied by HCSV.
Selection for participation in the program is competitive and the number of available slots is limited.

Applicants must be 11-14 years old, and their families must be members of Historic Cold Spring Village.
Along with a completed application, potential apprentices must provide the following:
· Applicants must show that they have maintained a B average or higher during the preceding school year.
· A letter of recommendation from a teacher (homeschooled applicants may submit a letter of recommendation from a non-related adult).
· Based on a prompt, applicants must write an essay or create a poster. Those who are accepted into the program will have their work displayed in the Welcome Center.
