Half-Day Hike and Paddle Huber Woods Park - Environmental Center Parking Lot 25 Brown's Dock Road, Locust (Middletown Twp.), NJ 07760  Tue, Jun 30, 2020, 2:00-6:00 PM (adults) Join a Park System Naturalist for a challenging half-day experience full of hiking and kayaking. We will hike two miles through Huber Woods Park towards Claypit Creek. Along the way, we will discuss the plants and animals that live in our park. Upon arrival at Claypit Creek, we will use “sit-on-top” kayaks and paddle into the Navesink River to observe an active bald eagle nest, osprey flying overhead, and search for herons, egrets, and a host of other critters that depend on our waterways. We will return to Claypit Creek, where participants will be bused back to the Huber Woods Environmental Center. Be sure to bring water and a snack, dress to get wet, and wear comfortable shoes! One Session $45.00 Per Person

(ages 21 and up) Come explore Monmouth County as we combine two activities which complement each other excellently, hiking and wine tasting! Take a 90-minute hike with a Park Naturalist, where we will explore and learn about the nature of Clayton Park. Then to celebrate our hard-work, participants can drive a quick five minutes down the road and join us for an optional picnic and wine tasting at Cream Ridge Winery ($5 pay on your own). Saturday, June 27 -- Union County Westfield Historical Society Walking Tour: What Makes a Neighborhood? – Tremont Avenue     On Saturday, June 27, 2020, from 9:00 – 11:00 am, the sixth in a very popular series of architectural walking tours will take place on Tremont Avenue. Scale, proportions, and materiality will be discussed.      The intent of this tour is to honor the beautiful streetscapes and the diverse architectural styles that remain centuries later. Gregory Blasi, R.A. local architect and principal of Vincentsen & Blasi Architects and Westfield Historical Society President, will lead the tour and answer questions.     The tour will accommodate 20 attendees, but additional tours will be scheduled if interest warrants. It will take place rain or shine. It will be a fun time for everyone as we find out what lives and swims in Sandy Hook Bay. Closed-toe shoes are required. Meet on the beach near the park entrance. The program will not run during inclement weather. All ages, under 18 with an adult. Parents or guardians are required to stay with and supervise their children. No swimming during the event. Join a Park System Naturalist for an extended boat tour as we go on the hunt for creatures in the evening hours. Bring your camera and have it ready because you never know what wildlife may show up with over 200 species of birds, 20 mammal species, and 25 reptile and amphibian species found at the reservoir. American Labor Museum/Botto House National Landmark Sponsors Annual Sol Stetin Golf Open Haledon, New Jersey –  The American Labor Museum/Botto House National Landmark will sponsor its Annual Sol Stetin Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 25th, 2020 at the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Colts Neck, New Jersey. A shotgun start will be at 12:00 PM. Lunch and dinner will be served. The Golf Tournament is named in honor of a founder of the Museum, Sol Stetin. Mr. Stetin was the former president of the Textile Workers’ Union of America.
